What Is Seein' is Believin'?
Who We Are
Seein' is Believin', an organization dedicated to addressing the many needs of youth, including mental health, life readiness, and the pressing issue of suicide. Suicide has been the second leading cause of death among those aged 10-19 since 2017, and rates among Black youth have risen faster than any other racial/ethnic group in the past two decades.
At Seein' is Believin', we are committed to creating safe and supportive programming for youth and supporting communities in better responding and supporting the needs of our youth. We offer a range of programs and services to help support communities in promoting youth mental health.
Our Youth Success Coaching program is designed specifically for middle and high school-aged youth. It focuses on four key areas: self-esteem building, mental health resilience, social skills development, and life readiness training. Through our program, young people learn how to develop positive self-esteem, build mental resilience, communicate effectively, and gain practical life skills that will help them succeed in today's society.
We also provide Youth Protection/Abuse Prevention, Youth and Teen Mental Health First Aid Trainings, Youth Mental Health Retreats, and Social Emotional Resilience workshops. Our programs are designed to provide young people with the tools they need to navigate difficult emotions and seek help when they need it.
In addition to our services for young people, Seein' is Believin' also offers training for organizations in Youth Protection and Youth Program Management. We teach organizations how to intentionally engage with youth of color, providing them with the skills they need to create supportive environments for all young people.
Our organization recognizes that many communities have limited access to mentors and mental health providers of color. Therefore, we strive to provide a range of services to help support communities in promoting youth mental health.
At Seein' is Believin', we are committed to promoting the holistic well-being of youth and creating a culture of care, inclusivity, and compassion. We believe that by working together, we can make a positive difference in the lives of young people and create a brighter future for all.
Engaging Presenters
We know that representation matters in helping youth see themselves in their future careers. Our presenters are trailblazers in their respective fields and are excited to share their expertise, experience, and passion to your youth.
Our presenters look forward to partnering with your teachers, tell their stories, present life changing workshops, and discuss how their cultural backgrounds influence their professions today. Our workshops also infuse life readiness skills because we recognize that some students may not be ready to go straight to college from high school. Our life readiness workshops include vocational prep, college prep, and personal leadership.
Wide Variety of Online Cultural Infusion Programming
Our infusions are focused in engaging and inspiring youth in ways that traditional curriculum does not always do. Samples of our work include:
- Youth Voices Programming-Visual and Performing Arts
- Improving math, science, and history classes through culturally based life readiness cooking classes
- Infusing traditional music curriculum with multicultural composers, singers, and dancers
